Masters Or Slaves
$20.00
For most people Artificial Intelligence is the dream of sci-fi writers or the scaremongering of popular authors who suggest AI will soon surpass human intelligence. The rapid increase in computer power coupled with the availability of vast amounts of personal data has resulted in the widespread deployment of AI around the world. This significant uptake of current technology across a large range of industry and commerce, as well as by public institutions and healthcare, has created a range of ethical dilemmas. These include data privacy and freedom, the influence of AI on our personhood through to the use of human-like digital agents, the assignment of moral agency to self-drive vehicles, and the impact on work. Our response to these ethical issues will determine whether we become slaves to or masters of this technology.
Masters or Slaves? lays a theological and ethical foundation for our response by considering what the Bible teaches about our being made in God’s image, moral responsibility, the dignity of work, and idolatry. A framework for evaluating the impact of AI is proposed, starting with a taxonomy of applications reflecting different influences and challenges to humanness. A virtue approach is used for determining our responses, as individuals and as a society. The book concludes with a number of propositions as a ‘Christian manifesto’ for AI.

Divine Conspiracy Continued
$14.99In this sequel to his spiritual classic The Divine Conspiracy, the late Dallas Willard, along with theologian Gary Black Jr., fulfills his revolutionary vision of how the kingdom of God is made real on earth
In The Divine Conspiracy, Dallas Willard critiqued the church’s obsessive focus on “sin management” and revolutionized how we understand Christian discipleship, revealing what it meant to “apprentice ourselves” to Jesus to truly fulfill his message that the “kingdom of God has come.”
In The Divine Conspiracy Continued, the last book he was actively working on before his death, Willard along with theologian Gary Black Jr., lays out the next stage in God’s plan for a new generation of disciples, including pastors and lay leaders, who can transform the world from the inside out. God does not call Christians to protect themselves from the world, Willard reminds us; he calls them to embrace it, to lead and serve.
Throughout his life, Willard was the teacher other leaders looked to for guidance and understanding. This remarkable volume continues his ground-breaking message, and is sure to become a cherished fount of wisdom and a new blueprint for how God’s revolution can continue into the twenty-first century.

$14.99‘Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith. He was even called the friend of God.’ (James 2.23)
Abraham is the only character in the Bible to be described in that way, and John C. Lennox shows us why. Throughout the Bible Abraham is seen as a pivotal figure in God’s plan of salvation, and in Friend of God Professor Lennox helps us to see through the mists of the past to the real flesh-and-blood man, with all his strengths and weaknesses.
This study guide to Friend of God is packed with thought-provoking suggestions for private reflection or group discussion, drawing out the many ways in which the story of Abraham can teach us how to live faithfully in a world of religious doubt and scepticism today.

No Ceiling To Hope
$13.99Servants of Christ are in the transformation business.
This kind of transformation will only happen if we refuse to be seduced by false idols like success, money, fame and security to become the church we were called to be. We need to take ownership of the problems around us and work with people who are suffering in order to find solutions and offer lasting change.
In No Ceiling to Hope, Patrick travels the globe to find examples of this change: In Bolivia, he reports how Christian backing for education projects is allowing families to find a way out of poverty. In London, XLP is mentoring young people to turn aside from violence. In Los Angeles, a new future is being offered to gang girls. In high security prisons in the UK and US, the Spirit is turning lives around. In Belfast’s Shankill Road area, a group of elderly ladies is cooking meals for men who sit all day in local pubs . . . The list is extensive, and inspiring. The common element is that, in all circumstances, Christ is offering hope.
Be inspired afresh that, when it comes to what Jesus can do, there really is no ceiling to hope.
